What does a military intelligence operative actually do ?
Additional information
I have read the descriptions on the Army homepage and the description for the military intelligence operative interests me on a personal level but i am unsure if it is the right choice to make. I have a back ground in electro-mechanical trades so the REME appeals to me career wise but from the descriptor for operative it seems like something i might enjoy. Any info would be appreciated, cheers!

Operator Military Intelligence
This varies from job to job. Some soldiers may work at a Brigade HQ, keeping the commander updated with the current intelligence picture, whilst others may deploy on the ground with an infantry company or even provide strategic support to very senior officials. Hi Euan,
Thanks for your question. Intelligence corps soldiers can fulfil a variety of roles. We can support smaller units to HQ formations with operational intelligence or keep our troops and assets secure with counter intelligence & security.
Intelligence corps soldiers can also specialise and become linguists or cyber security specialists, for example.
There's a wide variety of work that you can undertake in the Intelligence Corps, though to succeed you will ideally have an interest in current affairs, communication and briefing, and report writing.
Hope this helps.

Good evening, in regards to the linguists positions within the Intelligence Corps, do you get a choice of which language to study or is it a matter of necessity?

Hi Cherlish,
Unfortunately it's a matter of necessity - i.e what languages are we likely to need in the future.
