Regimental Medical Officer
Hello,
I've asked a veterinary officer colleague to answer this one for you, their reply is below;
'There isn't really an average day, and it will depend on your role. However this is a brief and very broad brush overview;
You start your career as a troop commander, which is similar to any other regular officer in the Army. You will be responsible for the management and care of your soldiers. As you progress you can take on more clinical roles, this involves looking after the health and welfare of the military working animals under your care, ensuring they are fit and ready to deploy.'
I hope that is helpful, like all Army roles, veterinary officers have a very varied and interesting job, and it's not often they will have two weeks that are the same!
I would anticipate a mix of clinical work and officer work, with each one varying in amount depending on your posting.
