Additional information

I would ideally like to join the Coldstream guards or the Royal Lancers, but have been told that I might be too old.

Hello William,
The upper age limit for regular (full time) infantry officers is 28 years and 11 months.
The upper age limit for reserve (part time) infantry officers is 48 years and 11 months.
Full details can be found on here: https://apply.army.mod.uk/roles/infantry/infantry-officer
Hope this helps.

Hi William,

Thank you for your question.

Your age won’t impact your selection for a Regiment or Corps, often older candidates with a little more maturity and life experience fair better in the interview process so I really wouldn’t worry.

Go after whatever you are interest in and passionate about.

Good luck!

Katie
