Additional information

Had a confirmed egg allergy as a child however am awaiting referral to a consultant who believes this should not bar me from entry to the military as no episodes for over 20 years. I have already had an application turned down to join the reserves in a non-GCC role but wondered if there was any point in pursuing an appeal/re-apply if this was a blanket ban?

Some allergies depend on the severity as to weather or not you are able to join. If your application was turned down before it should have told you how long you have to wait before you can reapply, or if you can. If you are not able to you can appeal the decision, however sufficient justification would be needed and review by the medical team. Therefore you may still need to wait for an answer from the specialist before sufficient justification can be obtained. If you do want to make an appeal then the process will be explained to you and what will be needed in order to continue your application. You would need to contact the National Recruitment Centre (NRC) for this to happen.
