Hi - During training you have the first 4 weeks to decide if you want to stay and complete training, almost everyone decides to stay. Once you pass this point the minimum service is 4 years; however you can hand in your notice aka "sign off" after 3 years and be out by your 4 year point if that's what you want.

Don't let basic training put you off, most soldiers stay in for much longer than 4 years, and basic training isn't representative of what the Army is like normally.
