Thanks for the question.
It can vary.
As there are 5 foot guards regiments, we have a rotation to cover ceremonial. If a unit has operation or overseas requirements then it can be tasked to another regiment. People assume the guards cover all ceremonial, raf and Royal Marines also do palace ceremonial duties along with a variety of units within the army.
The welsh guards are currently covering quite a lot as we are currently on the blue line and were due to troop the queens birthday parade this year.
Alongside a deployment to the jungle, Kenya in September in preparation for an operational tour of Iraq in 2021.
