As someone that is now out of training, the basic training is such a great experience looking back now. Even though it may seem difficult, just push through and it is all worth it in the end to actually do the job role you joined for.

I honestly believe it's worth at least trying life in the Army. If you don't like it, you can leave with a story to tell, and you'll have gained some life skills. If you do like it, you'll have a rewarding career that you can be proud of, you'll grow in confidence, find mates for life, and see the world. The army application process is quite unique and it’s an experience in itself. Even if you're unsuccessful you'll have that story to tell and you'll definitely have learned something about yourself. Also, most times, just because you've been unsuccessful doesn't mean you can't try again.

It's always better to be at the bottom of a ladder you wan't to climb, than half way up one you don't. Okay... I promise I won't do anymore cheesy quotes from now on, but it really is true. I've always thought of this, as you can see from the various jobs I've had, I've always been looking for that one job that ticks every box for things you want out of a career. Don't be persuaded into doing a job you're not set on, just because it may result you getting your start date early. Or if you need a qualification for a particular job. Get that qualification! If it means you getting that career/job role that you really want, then go for it. Don't settle for second best.
