Total training time for a Driver will vary depending on if you already have any driving license categories and whether or not you pass driving license tests at your first opportunity or not. Once you have gained your Cat B (Car), Cat C (Lorry) and Cat C+E (Lorry and trailer) licenses and your hazardous materials certification you will then move on to further specific vehicle training where you'll learn basic maintenance, off road driving, convoy drills and many other things.
All in all you could probably expect around 3 months to complete everything before posting on to your first Regiment as a Class 3 Driver.
In my opinion one of the exciting things as a driver is learning how to operate different types of vehicles and then using them in a military application, cross country driving, patrols etc. Depending on where you are assigned and what role your Regiment have will depend on which specific to role vehicles you need to learn.
