Hi Julia,
Yes, women can join any part of the British Army. The rules changed a couple of years ago to provide women with the same opportunities as men. Have you made an application to join or is this something you are still considering?
Thanks
Amie

Hi Julia,
That's fantastic news! Being an Army Cadet will definitely give you a head start with certain aspects of basic training, as many of the skills and activities you do in cadets are quite similar.
There are two routes into joining the Infantry: you can join as a soldier straight after your GCSEs, or you can join after your A-Levels and become an officer. Both paths offer unique opportunities and experiences, so it's great to have options depending on your educational background and career goals. Do you have any other questions that you would like to ask?

The entry requirements to become an officer are consistent across all roles, except for the Professionally Qualified Roles (such as Doctor, Dentist, etc.). For the unqualified roles, you need 72 UCAS points and 35 ALIS points at GCSE or equivalent qualifications. This includes a minimum grade C/4 (or Scottish National 5 Grade C) in English, Maths, and a science or foreign language.
If you're interested in becoming an officer, the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst holds open days three times a year. The next open day is in July. Keep an eye on this link (https://jobs.army.mod.uk/regular-army/events/officer-insight-events/) to register and attend the open day. This event will give you an insight into what life as an Army Officer is like and provide an opportunity to speak with serving female officers if you have any further concerns or questions.
