Hi Shakhoy,

As a Reservist you'd receive much of the same benefits, travel, deployments, sports opportunities, medical and dental treatments for free and efficiently.

It's a more liquidated version of regular service, think of it as a broadband package, if you want the best connection that produces rapid opportunities then the full fibre (regular service) is the better option over the one lesser option even if the same job gets done.

Reservists have more freedoms afforded to them. So if you like the idea of trying something new but also wanting to remain in the civilian world, then it's the best of both worlds that I'd recommend should you wish to embark on a new challenge.

Thank for that Michael K. I am excited to join, I am an official member of the United Nations community in London, I participate in Teach the UN. I am hoping to be moving from New York U.S. to London England United Kingdom with a spouse. I will be in London September 30th 2025. I was born in the British Virgin Islands. Are you reserve or Regular service at the British Army?

Sounds like you have an exciting adventure you are about to embark on.

I'm a Regular full time Soldier for the last 16 years and counting.

Yes, I chose British Army Reserve so I can continue my work with the United Nations in the civilian life. I actually just got guidance from the United Kingdom Permanent Mission to The United Nations Consular Services about Returning to the United Kingdom from UK.GOV. I miss the U.k. and my spouse is excited to live in our residence in London (Soon to be acquired at some point). How do you balance living London (If thats where you live) and obligations at British Army?

I was brought up around 2 hours North of London but I'm currently posted to Dundee, Scotland.

As a regular Soldier my work life balance is almost none existent. Albeit this changes vastly dependent on different roles. I'm currently committed to 24 years service. The challenges presented in everyday life can be testing but equally rewarding due there there positive effect.

The Reserves are perfect for a healthy work life balance as typically serving reservists have a full time civilian job that works in perfect harmony allowing the balance to exist. Your commitment is up to you. Most roles ask for 27 days a year as a minimum.

As a reservists, what is average salary income at the British Army? I already applied and look forward to a reservists role. I plan to permanently live in Cardiff Wales United Kingdom. Since I am overseas at the moment in the United States, Manhattan I have to reapply once move back to the United Kingdom September 30th 2025. I will be renoucning (denouce) my United States Citizenship at the United States Embassy in London at a Consular officer and signing the oath. Do you have any interactions with similar plans? I will be enroute from John F. Kennedy International Airport in Queens New York to London Heathrow International Airport in London England United Kingdom. Does the British Army encourage maintaining both Citizenships if having two or more nationalities? The United Nations doesn't want me joining any armies, thank you I will be deleting my account.
