I would like to be in the UK army (serving as an infantry soldier) for a year. Would that be possible?

Hi Aimee,
The Army does offer Gap Year Commissions and now that women can join any Regiment you could apply to do this in the Infantry.
You will need to apply when you are in your final year of college, and then the gap year would occur before you start university. The eligibility criteria can be found on the Army Recruiting website (link below).
You will complete 8 weeks of training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS), and then be given the rank of Second Lieutenant. If you later decide to join the Regular Army you would still return to RMAS to complete the full commissioning course.
Head to the Army Recruiting website and fill out an application form and they’ll get in touch; https://apply.army.mod.uk/how-to-join/entryoptions/gap-year-commission#
Good luck with your application.
