I'm considering applying for a role, but would be put off if it meant I had to eat meat.

You can definitely be a vegetarian in the Army. I'm not vegetarian myself but I know a few who are. All of our cook house canteen will serve a vegetarian option/s with every meal; and whilst on exercise/operations, there is a vegetarian ration pack option.
