Hi Henry,
If you join as a CMT, once you reach a certain rank you can apply to train as a paramedic. So the answer to your question is yes, but if it is competitive they will only select the best candidates to enter training.
I haven't specified which rank as this is a relatively new initiative and the selection criteria has changed a few times and may change again.
