Hello, the posting to the guards para platoon is usually 2 years however, there are possibilities to extend on the posting or to transfer if you wanted to stay longer

As mentioned above, a posting to the platoon is 2 years and back to your home guards unit to spend some time, generally do some sort of course or promotion with an opportunity to go back as a different role/rank if required
Depends on your unit and their forecast of events
