You should be at the minimum fitness standard before basic training. If you're not then you will struggle. The fitter you are before you join the easier things will be BUT the staff are not expecting you to turn up as a Ninja Warrier as training will be built up slowly. You are more likely to do yourself an injury trying to train before you go. The 100% Army Fitness App would / could help you. Good luck.

Thank you for your question
Yes I would advise training before starting basic training
There is an app you can download called army fit, you can also join your local armed forces careers office strava running club and get fitness support whilst going through the joining process.
If you have a basic level of fitness prior to joining it will make your life a little bit easier whilst in basic training.
Have you started your application process yet?
