It's entirely up to you how much you wash your hair. During Exercise / ops it might not be feasible / possible to wash your hair daily but you could always take dry shampoo with you. How you wear it, to some degree is also up to you - if it's above the collar you can wear it 'down'. If it's shoulder length then hair should be tied back neatly. New rules have just come in that you can now wear your hair in a plat or ponytail, whereas before hair always needed to be pulled into a bun.
