Basic training is held at 3 locations. The first is Army Foundation College Harrogate which is for applicants under the age of 17yrs and 9 months and is for all cap badges including the infantry. If you are over this, then you will most likely attend Army Training Centre (Pirbright) although you may also attend the Army Training Centre at Winchester. Both Pirbright and Winchester are 14 weeks long and you will train alongside all corps cap badges but not the infantry. Harrogate can be anything from 6 months (short course) to a year.
