Hi there.
I would look to know what you want to join before you apply. Research thoroughly and explore both the Army Jobs website and the Main Army website. If you see something you like maybe find the regiment on social media to see what they are like and what they do day to day.
I would also visit your local careers centre when you chose your role/regiment is different depending on where you want to go and they would know the finer nuances depending on what you want to do.
Hope this helps.

Thank you for your response and advice regarding choosing a role/regiment. I appreciate your guidance.
However, I have already submitted my application and did not see an option to select a specific role during the process. Could you kindly clarify if I need to select a role at this stage, or will this be addressed later in the recruitment process?
Additionally, I would like to understand if there are any steps I need to take now to align my application with a particular role or regiment.
I am eager to proceed and am committed to learning more about the opportunities available.

Sorry, I was quickly answering while on public transport. I should have explained better. Depending on where you want to go your choice of regiment is made at a different time. So for example, from my Corps, the Royal Armoured Corps. You chose to go RAC and your Regiment at Catterick which is where the Combat Arms conduct their Basic Training. However you will have had to have chosen to go Combat during your application to go to Catterick, albeit that you will have probably decided Inf or RAC before you arrive. If you are looking to go to Harrogate then you would choose there and head to ITT. It’s all quite nuanced how and when you choose your regiment depending on what you want to do. The local careers adviser will know the precise details for the part of the army you wish to join. My specialism is Royal Armoured Corps and so I wouldn’t want to give you any duff advice for elsewhere.

Thank you for your response. I understand the importance of choosing the right regiment during the application process. However, during my application, I don’t recall explicitly selecting a specific regiment. Could you kindly confirm whether this will affect my application and advise on the next steps for finalizing my choice?

So you won't be choosing a role or regiment straight away, this will happen later in the process. When is dependant on what path you want to take. You should have been allocated a recruiter (CSM) when you applied, and they we be able to give assistance and talk you through all the steps and options , including what you need to do when. Your allocated recruiter is there to give you specific answers in relation to your specific needs. The other option is to speak to someone in a careers centre. I can only answer things in general based on my experience, and because i am unable to see your application details.
Im sorry i couldn't be more specific but i hope i have at least given you a broader understanding of how the process works and why things happen as they do.

Thank you for your detailed response. I now have a better understanding of how the process works. However, I have been trying to contact my allocated recruiter (CSM) through my portal, but I haven’t received any response yet. I understand she has a busy schedule, but I’ve been waiting for a reply to help me navigate the next steps.
Could you also let me know how long the entire process typically takes?

I recently learned that candidates from Commonwealth countries do not have a specific timeframe for the application process. I wanted to kindly confirm if there are any updates or further steps I should take while waiting.
Thank you for your assistance, and I appreciate your guidance regarding this matter.
