Hi,
When you start training you will first conduct Basic Training (step 1) and then you will a few weeks off in between and then you will go to Initial Trade Training (step 2). The second stage is far more relaxed with more time off and most weekends will be your own. Thereafter, when you complete all your training you will have nearly eight weeks holiday a year (30 working days plus all bank holidays). There will be plenty of time to see your friends and family.

As mentioned above, you will first complete basic training - 14 weeks with a 2 week period of leave at some stage.
Once you have passed out, your leave will depend on when your phase 2 training course starts depending on what job choice you are going for. Whilst at phase 2 you will have scope to travel home on weekends when you the programme has a gap.
Training is not like your unit, there is a lot to learn in phase 1 and phase 2 training so the programme will be busy
Regards
J
