Whilst in training your bf will need to live in. When he goes to his first unit, if you are not married he could apply for a surplus quarter (a house/flat) (SFA - Service Families Accomodation). If you are married you would be 'entitled' to a house. Certain areas in the country are trialing something called the Future Army Model (FAM) which changes entitlement (making it easier for those who are not married) - but he will be told about this in more detail if he goes to an area that is trialing FAM.
