Additional information

I am planning on applying, and I rent my own place, so I wanted to know if I would have to move in on a base or do I just travel to a nearby detachment for training. Thank you for your help

If you apply to the Regular (full time) Army you would have to move to an Army Training Regiment (Catterick, Litchfield, Winchester) for the duration of your training - basic training is 14 weeks long. If you are looking to join the Army Reserves (part time) then your training would be at your local Reserves unit therefore you would just travel there for training evenings / weekends etc.
