Hi there,
Thanks for your question.
The Duke of Lancaster's Regiment is an Infantry Regiment affiliated to the North West of England. They have 2 regular battalions (1 and 2 LANCS) and 1 reserve battalion (4 LANCS).
Whilst all Battalions are infantry and specialise in dismounted close combat, 2 LANCS are classed as a Specialised Infantry Battalion. This sees them provide an increased contribution to countering terrorism and building stability overseas. All Battalions are ready to deploy rapidly anywhere in the world and provide reconnaissance, ground manoeuvre and combat power.
If you are interested in joining the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment and are on Facebook it’s worth following their page as you’ll get a great sense of all the things they’re currently up to.
I hope this answers your question but feel free to come back to me if you want to know more.
Katie
