Tori C.
Regimental Medical Officer
Hello!
The term 'medic' to the army refers to a combat medical technician, although to the non-military it means doctor. I can tell you about being a doctor, but if you do mean CMT, then Luke W. might be able to help!
Being a doctor is varied but interesting job, as a GDMO I never had two weeks that were the same, I split my time between working in a military medical centre, working at a medical regiment, deploying on exercise and operations and taking part in sport. It can be busy, your plans can change at the last minute, you have to be quite flexible, but it is a great experience. It won't be for everyone, but I would highly recommend considering it as a possible career path!
