- I joined the Army aged 18 and never looked back.
- Travelled the world over a 15 years and counting.
- Seen and done things I'd never thought would be possible for a career stream for me.
- Combat, Sports, Humanitarian assistance. You name it, I've got experience first hand.
-The day of pass of parade (completion of basic training). The first time i felt truly proud of an achievement, that i had made. I, like my peers, faced new and exciting challenges that as a young man, whilst daunting initially, was the first time i had been pushed myself to really find out what i was made of and prove to myself and my family that i could set goals and see them through.
- The single largest objective i had when applying to join the Army, was deploying and playing a vital role in Afghanistan.
This came into fruition and whilst a challenging tour, it provided me with the stepping stones of what would pan out to be a full career, with each year providing new and exciting goals that continue to keep me inspired to be better then i was yesterday.
ACC Commander in Dundee, part of the Recruiting Group.
My day to day currently involves establishing communications with youth workers within Schools, Colleges, STEM, liaising with students, teachers, local authority's to name a few. I currently have a small team of 4 under my command that whilst small in number deliver great effects by bridging the gap between Civilian to Solider in the initial stages thus drawing interest in Army in the first instance. So my role in ensuring that my team is efficiently prepared for each day is of great importance with the enormous task we share.
The Army offers so many different avenues, you can enhance yourself over the years so that it's never a dull day.
after 15 years, i am now pursuing a vital role in recruiting tomorrow's Army, today. This role itself is extremely satisfying ,as it gives me the ability to encourage others to also join and be the best version of themselves and unlocking potential that may not have been discovered previously.
I have a hugely rewarding job and that cannot be understated. Whilst i work hard, i equally feel privileged to be in the position i am in.
Doing my bit
I strive for team goals. What ever they be.
Day to day tasks, sporting accolades or travel. I thrive to be the best, in doing so also encouraging those around me to echo this for team success.
Developing others to become the best in their career streams, enabling my subordinate's to have the tools and place them in the driving seat of their career is what gives me the greatest sense of achievement.
Don't limit your goals, aspirations or abilities. Strive to become the best version of yourself.

Completion of Basic Training.
Whilst i have pushed into the unknown at times over my career, both physically and mentally at different tasks, Operations and Exercises alike.
I have many achievements and proud moments over the years but, when i think back on it all. Completion of basic training has to be up there as one of the best. Why? Quite simply it was the first time in my life that i had truly pushed myself and tested what i was really capable of. The first day of the rest of my life. It proved to be the foundations on to becoming a better person, who always had progressive goals being set.
