What is the hair like for girls in the army (i.e. putting their hair in a bun or pony tail) ?

Hair must always be kept neat and tidy either in a bun (low enough for you to get your beret on) or you can have a short bob provided your hair sits above the nape of your neck. The exception to this is whilst on exercise or times in which you are expected to wear a helmet. For most females with long hair having a bun prevents the helmet from sitting correctly so they will often plait the hair and tuck it down the back of their shirt or combat jacket to keep it out of the way. Hope this helps.
