Hello,
It can be very variable in regards to deployments for physios, but I would guess it's once every 2-3 years, sometimes more often, sometimes less.
When not abroad you can work in a variety of settings. There are 3 main roles for physios. Firstly there are physios based in military GP surgeries providing care to the local military population. There are Regional Rehabilitation Units, these are based in various locations all over the UK and will provide more specialist input. They provide rehabilitation courses, and have access to more imaging and intervention, sometimes a sport and exercise medicine consultant will be based at these centres. Lastly there is Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre near Lichfield, lots of physios will start their careers here. They provide a very high level care for complex patients, both as inpatients and outpatients.
