what is a typical day in the life of a physiotherapist within the army

Hello, It can be very variable depending on where you are. If you work in a PCRF (in a military Med centre) then it's similar to working with outpatients. 0800-1630, with breaks for coffee, lunch and admin. If you work in an RRU (regional rehab unit) then it'll involve running more intensive rehab courses and the patients will stay on site. The hours will still be the same as a PCRF. Physios will often do a rotation at the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre which looks after more complex patients, both on inpatient wards and as outpatients. Again the hours are fairly similar. At the RRU and DMRC physios often work alongside an MDT including podiatrists, occupational therapists and doctors who specialise in sports medicine. As an officer you will sometimes be the duty officer, this involves being on call during the nights and weekends in case there are any problems on the military base you work on. And then of course you might deploy to various parts of the world to provide physiotherapy support abroad. Lots of physios are also involved with military sports teams and get the opportunity to go on tours with them.
