If you are successful and complete training, you will then be posted to battalion and both are based in Colchester, Essex, this is where you will be for you career unless the regiment moves posting out of battalion i.e training instructor at ITC Catterick. As for staying in the UK that is different year to year, depending on training exercises or deployment, training exercises overseas can range from 2 weeks up to 6 weeks away and then operational deployments 6months away.
