My son is 18 next month and thinking of applying as a reme,he is dyslexic would this effect his chances?

Hi, being dyslexic is not a barrier in joining the army or different trades as long as he gets the right score in the BARB test. If he has been statemented it will also help in terms of education once he's in. Each individual is different and until he applies and sees how he gets on during assessment then i can't really say. As an ex Education Officer i have taught plenty of soldiers with dyslexia within the REME and all parts of the army. The army has great education provision in place too if he requires it throughout his career.
