Typically, each unit will work on a rotation for Military deployments. You can be on a readiness to deploy in the UK for things like disaster relief, covid response and petrol shortage response, there are then deployments for training in the UK and overseas to places like Canada and Kenya. Then there are UK and overseas operations / NATO missions too. Therefore, there are lots of opportunity to travel and deploy but also lots of time between these rotations to rest, recover and work on self-development.
