Hello. Thank you for your question.
I am not a dog handler myself but I will answer as best as I can.
As a dog handler in the Army, you will work with protection dogs to start with making sure that our Army bases are safe and secure. Later on there is the option to work with specialist dogs that are trained to detect explosives. You should have the opportunity to deploy on operations with your dog and throughout your career you will keep your dog trained to the highest standard and form a bond.
I have spoken with a few dog handlers in the Army and they claim to enjoy it. Many of them have travelled all around the world wherever they are required.
For more information about the role, eligibility criteria and qualifications you can gain, please visit the following URL apply.army.mod.uk/roles/army-medical-ser⦠I hope this helps.

Hey
I worked along side Dog handlers whilst in Afghanistan and it’s a very demanding and important role
When I was working in the recruting office it is hard role to get into but if you have experience with working with working dogs this will help massively
Hope this helps
