Reconnaissance Platoon soldier
Thanks for your question.
To be a sniper in the Army you would be looking to join one of the Infantry/Ground close combat roles.
Once you have completed your training at the Infantry Training Centre in Catterick, you will arrive at your chosen battalion and work towards it.
If you are lucky enough to be selected and pass the pre course requirements you will then be loaded on to a sniper course.
The course lasts 9 weeks and is renowned at being one of the hardest courses in the British Army.
I hope this answers your question
