How to get into the Guards Para Platoon?
Additional information
Hi James, I was just wondering how to joint the Guards Para Platoon? Do you join straight from training? Or do you have to wait a few months/ years before you can put in for p company? Any information would be very appreciated.. Thank you N

Reconnaissance Platoon soldier
Newlyn, thanks for your question.
There is talks of going straight on P company whilst at ITC catterick but nothing has been confirmed yet.
You would pass out then stay at ITC to attempt P company.
You would then report to your chosen guards regiment, gain a bit of experience before then applying to go on your jumps course. Once that is complete you will gain your wings allowing you to then be posted to the guards parachute platoon. In Colchester.
If the ITC route is not confirmed then you would request to go on P company, attend a pre para course in pirbright before then going up to ITC to attend P company.
You will be expected to stay in the guards for 2 years at a time before posting to Colchester for 2 years.
Hope this makes sense
J
