Will a section take an Engineer on patrol? I am interested in 3Para and 9Para.

Additional information
I wanted to be an infantry soldier with 3Para until I passes my TST at AC Lichfield and I was advised that 9Para may be a better option. I want to at least occasionally fight on the battlefield.

Reconnaissance Platoon soldier
Thanks for your question and well done on your AC result.
As an engineer, you may be attached to an infantry section whilst on patrol but as a search or moe asset(method of entry) using explosives etc for doors. The ‘fighting on the battlefield’ will be done by infantry troops unfortunately.
What job we’re you looking to do in the engineers? A lot of people go to AC as infantry first choice but get steered towards different job choices for some reason. The question to yourself would be why change if infantry was the job choice you prepared for and chose?
Regards
J
