I want to be a reserve in the army as I would like to study for a degree in mechanical engineering. Is this possible?

Is there a way I can find out which engineering role would be best suited for myself?

Yes you can join the reserves whilst maintaining your studies. There are a minimum amount of days required to commit (I think in the region of 20-25 days per year) in order to receive the associated financial rewards and their are set mandatory training days you are required to attend. You would be best to contact your local reserve Unit to find out specifics. A point to note; If you are considering an engineering profession in the reserves, you may have to look at joining a reserve unit further afield from where you are studying/living (depending on geographic location).
