Hello Sylvia, thank you for your question.
Before I joined, I had no military background either. I didn't have any friends or family in the Army so I felt like I was going in blind.
You will find that when you turn up to Basic training, majority of the other recruits will be in the same position as you and will have no military background either. You will have no problems fitting in for this reason if that's what you are worried about. You will be taught every thing you need to know and you'll soon get used to the routine.
