Thanks for your question.
It takes about 6 months to train to deploy on operations overseas.
What we can’t answer is how long into your career it would be before you went on operations. That is totally dependant on what is happening in the world which needs our intervention, what unit you are in and what trade you do. Tours tend to come around on a cyclical basis but some units may deploy more than others if they do a particular role which is required.

Providing you are over the age of 18 and have completed the relevant annual training. You could be deployed within weeks of getting to your unit depending on the job you are doing

In previous years we had guys turning up to regiment from training, getting issued kit and straight onto a small pre tour training and briefs and straight out to join the unit on operations.
