Thanks for your question.
Basic training is 12 weeks, once you have completed this you will get a period of leave before then coming back to ITC Catterick to carry out another 14 weeks advanced infantry training. Depending on what regiment you were joining would depend what happens after the 26 weeks. The Guards for example will do a further week of drill and a driving crash course where you will gain a category B driving licence and potentially a category C if you already have a B.
Some soldiers stay for 2 weeks to do literacy and numeracy qualifications.

Unfortunately not. The army’s policy is currently clean shaven.
There have been talks of the army’s facial hair policy changing or under trial but nothing confirmed.
