Do I need qualifications to be a CMT?
Additional information
I currently don’t have the needed GCSEs to join as a CMT but I’ve heard that if you go through training and they’re happy with you, you can then train to be a CMT if allowed? And when I eventually finish my service in the army I know there’s a route I can take to train as a fully licensed paramedic through the army, but would my lack of qualifications hold me back from this? Thanks

Hello,
Training to be a CMT is particularly competitive at the moment. Occasionally serving soldiers will transfer to become CMTs, but if you did not have the correct GCSEs this might not be possible.
Some CMTs are supported to train as paramedics while serving, the application process for this can be competitive as you are not only competing against CMTs, but also civilians to get onto the course, therefore not having the appropriate grades may disadvantage you. If you trained as a paramedic with the Army you would be required to continue serving once you qualify for a period of time.
