Is army safe for medics; how many times have you encountered a real attack from terrorists and so you have to fight with soldiers as a medical officer?

Regimental Medical Officer
Hi Navrajpreet,
All soldiers and officers (except for chaplains) are trained to use a weapon. While medical officers do not take part in offensive combat, they may be required to act in self defence or in defence of a patient who is unable to defend themselves (as per the geneva convention). There are many MOs who have been involved in combat, and many who have not, it is very situational dependent.
