Regimental Medical Officer
Hello,
At the minute I am afraid you cannot transfer to become a doctor while serving as a combat medical technician. However, you can apply to transfer to train as a nurse, or alternatively you could apply to train as a paramedic.
If you do want to be a CMT for a while, and then become a doctor, you would need to get into medical school via the normal system (so you would need the required A level results), then leave the army (at least as a regular soldier, you could stay in the reserves) and either apply for a bursary while at medical school or re-join the army once you have finished medical school. You would then need to attend Sandhurst to complete the short commissioning course to become an officer.
If you have the grades to go to medical school, I would recommend just going straight for that and applying for a bursary in your 2nd or 3rd year. You will still get to spend a few years as a General Duties Medical Officer and have time to travel and enjoy yourself!
