Can you leave the army after 3 years as a GDMO and join the NHS for speciality training as a medical bursar?

The bursary requires you to commit to 4y post FY2 training. If I, after 3 years as a GDMO, did not want to pursue any of the specialities offered, would the army allow me to leave and specialise in the NHS? If so, what would the "penalty" be - would I have to repay the whole bursary, repay part of the bursary, join the reserves, do a fourth GDMO year, or do something else?

I am not sure on this answer, I believe that you would have to do the 4 years or repay back the bursary, you can always change fields as a doctor from one speciality to another within the NHS as I have worked with people who have done so most of those who join usually go down the emergency medicine route so it depends what route it is you are wanting to go for.
