Accommodation during basic training is shared rooms, after basic training you have your own room -most now have an en-suite in the newer blocks. In the older accommodation you have shared ablutions (ie a male shower block but it has separate showers and separate cubicles with baths). You don't have to live in army accommodation but could choose to live in rented accommodation or at home if it's close enough to commute to work! There are lots of options!
