Hi, it's absolutely true but the emphasis is also on you to do it. The Army is committed to education and particularly to further education. During Phase 2 training you will gain at a minimum a Lv 3 qualification, this qualification could then be accredited towards the BSc or it might be that you can start an OU course etc later. The Army will always support education in terms of financing (even if it's just a partial) and in terms of time off. Even with an OU course most Chain of Commands will give their Service Personnel time off to complete assignments or dissertation for example. There are serving soldiers with PhDs that they have gained whilst serving. I hope this helps.

Hi there, the degree is based out on a programme with Staffordshire university and your phase 2 training counts as the first 3 years of a 4-year bachelor. you can either pay £4.5k to do one year of study and acquire the degree or wait till you've served long enough to use enhanced learning credits to pay for it. For more info search HM forces at Staffordshire university the sponsoring provider of the qualification.

Alternatively, if you stay in long enough Royal signals will attempt to push you through a degree at the ranks of Seargent or above should you not wish to do aforementioned course.
