Confused about 16 Med Reg. They are part of 16 Air Assault Brigade but don’t do P company? Are they parachute trained?

Hi Ashwin and thanks for your question,
I can understand your confusion, quite often in these situations, when you are posted somewhere it will all be explained to you what is required for that job you are moving on to etc.
P company is open to all arms to attend, and it's done on a voluntary basis, so not everyone will be required to complete the course. In order to work closely alongside the Parachute regiment then it would much more likely be that you'll need to complete P Company, but not always completely necessary.
16 Air Assault Brigade encompasses much more than just the Parachute regiment, and 16 Medical Regiment will be there to facilitate this in every way. Such as surgeons, doctors, nurses and much more in a variety of roles from across the British Army. So no, not everyone in 16 Air Assault brigade is Parachute trained.
If you are interested in becoming parachute trained however, then the options for this will be fully explained to you when you join.
