If I would like to serve in Special Forces Support Group one day, do I need to be serving in Paras/Royal Marines to be eligible?

The Special Forces Support Group (SFSG) provides direct support to United Kingdom Special Forces (UKSF).

The vast majority of the SFSG comprises of members of the 1st Battalion The Parachute Regiment, The Royal Marines, RAF Regiment, along with some personnel from the Royal Signals, Royal Army Medical Corps and Royal Logistic Corps make up the rest of SFSG.

Paratroopers will first serve in either the 2nd or 3rd Battalion The Parachute Regiment, before serving in the 1st Battalion The Parachute Regiment (SFSG).
