Hello,
I am afraid I am neither a CMT nor in the special forces!
However, CMTs attached to the special forces receive a significant amount of important clinical training. They may be expected to operate in remote environments that are higher risk than other CMTs, and they need to be equipped with the knowledge and skill to deal with those situations.
You will also receive further training about being a soldier in adverse environments as while you are there as their medic, you must also be able to be a soldier and be able to look after yourself.
Most CMTs will normally work in a few jobs before being attached to the special forces. This means you will have plenty of opportunity to speak to CMTs in the roles you aspire to, this will help you to make decisions about your career, but will also help you prepare adequately for some of the more demanding jobs.
