Reconnaissance Platoon soldier
Thanks for your question.
Any role within a section will be amongst the fighting. A gpmg is a section/platoon weapon so you could end up providing fire support for a fire team/section launching.
What regiment are you interested in joining? Once you have gained experience within your role and shown you are competent handling and on the ranges with the gpmg, I’m sure you will selected for it.
