Hi there,
Thanks so much for your question. When are you due to start the pilots' course? Are you currently holding?
My biggest bit of advice would be to keep upbeat. If you're on hold currently then you'll already be aware that the pilots' course is long and that you'll need to stay motivated for the duration. Keeping upbeat and positive can be hard when it feels like the end is so far away; but if you can keep a good attitude throughout then not only does it makes the whole experience more enjoyable, but it also means instructors and peers will be more inclined to help you out should you struggle with any aspects of the course.
I would also say that you need to be prepared to work hard. Putting in the graft at the start of the course and building a solid foundation will pay dividends later on. Having said that, make sure you take your leave when you can and don't spend every weekend with your head in the books! As i said above, it's a long course and you need to treat it as a marathon and not a sprint to make sure you don't burn yourself out.
I hope I haven't scared you with that! It's a long but good course and it's been improved since I went through too so you'll be working with some of the newest equipment in the Air Corps. There's lots of opportunity for socialising (the RAF and Navy do parties really well) and if you are put on hold then there's ample opportunity to get some AT and other courses done too.
I hope that answers your question, let me know if there's anything else I can help with.
Take care,
Maddie

Thanks for a great reply!
Currently finishing Sandhurst after passing RSBs, so will be moving onto holding soon.
Thank you for the great advice on keeping upbeat, it is a long road ahead but the AAC have been really transparent about that so the excitement is still there!

Hi,
Glad to hear that answer has helped. Good luck with the last stage of Sandhurst! Hopefully you won't be holding for too long but if you are just try to make the most of it and get as much experience as you can from your holding unit.
Hopefully see you in the Corps soon!
Take care and give me a shout if you need any further help.
