If applying for the medical bursary for yrs 4 and 5, is the money still £10000 a year or £15000 (as no money in yr 3)?
Additional information
I'm currently a second year medical student and considering applying for the medical bursary however I have missed the January deadline to get the bursary for years 3, 4 and 5 so would only get money for years 4 and 5. I was wondering if the money is still the same (i.e. £10000 each year for year 4 and 5) or if the total amount is split over however many years you have left, regardless of when you apply for the bursary (i.e. £15000 each year for year 4 and 5 to account for not having the bursary in year 3)? I hope this makes sense, please do let me know if not!

Hi Charlotte,
As far as I can remember it is £10000 per year, so if you join later you will miss out on the year 3 pay. However, it would be best to run that one past the recruiting team in case it's changed, if you've already started your application your candidate support manager should be able to find out for you, but if not, then it would be worth contacting the recruiting team directly, they're usually quite responsive on social media or you can try calling the number on their website https://www.army.mod.uk/who-we-are/corps-regiments-and-units/army-medical-services/
If it helps, I joined as a direct entrant, so didn't get any of the financial benefits, but it was still worth it!
